A Home Plus/Adult Family Home is a private home that offers an accessible and safe environment. Most are nestled in a residential neighborhood. Depending on the state, home plus/ adult family homes can have 5 or 6 rooms and in Kansas up to 12 residents.
Each resident has their own bedroom and in some instances, a private bathroom. Access to common spaces is provided inside and outside. A licensed caregiver is in the home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
They provide home-cooked meals and snacks, laundry, housekeeping, and assistance with activities of daily living such as medication management, transferring, eating, toileting, showering and dressing.
